Woodrow Wilson football got big boost from district dinner program

Woodrow Wilson FC secured their third consecutive title with a 28-6 win over Romson-Fair Haven in the Central Jersey Group 3 final on November 19, but the Tigers’ head coach doesn’t think that would have been possible without him. The Secret Weapons of the Program – High School Cafeteria Workers.

Tigers get three meals a day during the summer and receive dinner each week after exercise as part of the District Dinner Program, which is available to after-school teams and clubs offering academic or student assistance programs.

The team spent their evenings eating and watching movies together, which boosted player nutrition, helped kids gain muscle and maintain weight, and improve camaraderie.
