What to prepare dinner at this time: Karoo Lamb Pie

Black pepper to style

Salt to style

1 packet of frozen puff pastry, thawed however fridge chilly

1 egg and 1 yolk


Sear the diced meat in olive oil and place in a aspect bowl or bakkie. Add extra oil and sauté the chopped onion, garlic, celery and leeks till tender. Scatter over the cornflour and stir in.

Add the browned meat and rosemary, stirring to coat. If it simmers for a couple of extra minutes whilst you stir, the contents of the pot will get a pleasant sheen due to the cornstarch fusing with the juice.

Add the bay leaves, spices, mace, mustard powder and stir within the heated lamb inventory.
