Volunteers need to deliver food, visit long-term care residents

WHEEL DRIVE AND DELIVERY Volunteers are needed in teams of two at lunchtime each day. One volunteer runs the route and another delivers the food to the home. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, and volunteer drivers must have a valid driver’s license.
LONG-TERM CUSTODY OMBUDSMEN They are needed to protect and defend the rights, dignity and safety of residents in long-term care facilities by making weekly visits to their assigned facility. Volunteers must undergo 30 hours of training and successfully complete the screening process.
STOA (House speech and debate) will hold a tournament on March 29, 30 and April 1. Volunteers are needed to contribute to youth growth and development by refereeing the tournament and providing feedback to students. Volunteers attend judge orientations, listen to presentations and debates, and provide feedback by filling out a ballot. Judges are required for two-hour rounds over three days. Volunteers interact with students aged 12-18 from different states. Snacks and snacks will be served to the judges.
SOROPTIMIST WOMEN’S SHOW AND HEALTH FAIR Volunteer doormen and free doormen are needed for the Women’s Show on April 22nd from 7:30am-10:30am, 10:30am-1:30pm and 1:30pm-4:30pm. Health Fair 7:30-10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Volunteers sit or stand near the exit doors to ensure that the public does not enter without a ticket. Volunteers must enjoy working with the public. Volunteers can sit or stand in this position, but there will be some standing to open the doors.
HOSPICE OF RENO COUNTY volunteers bring great joy to patients and their families. Hospice volunteers have a variety of talents. Whether you enjoy spending time with patients or working in an office, helping with gardening, baking, sewing, or visiting a veteran, there are volunteer opportunities for everyone. Help spread a little sunshine!
RENO CO. DEPARTMENT OF AGING/FRIENDS AT SERVICE – Auxiliary van drivers and food delivery people needed for food delivery service across the district. Van driver volunteers must have a valid Kansas driver’s license, cell phone for contact while in the county, high school GED or diploma, good driving record, pass background check, working knowledge of Reno County roads and be able to physically assist with food loading and unloading .
HORIZONS MENTAL HEALTH CENTER Seeking volunteer information desk staff Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to noon and 5:00 p.m. (shifts are subject to change). Volunteers staff the information desk and direct customers and visitors where to go in the building when asked. Volunteers can also communicate via computer messenger to alert other staff when appointments are coming up, etc. Volunteers must be able to work with the public, be friendly and sit for long periods of time.
