As the NFL prepares to enter the postseason and the Super Bowl, United Way of Indiana County is gearing up for its own big event that will satisfy your soup cravings and give you back. community.
United Way’s Souper Bowl XVI event will be held at IUP on February 6th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn Indiana.
The event is a fan favorite for those who want to support United Way and gets bigger and better every year as they come together to serve the local restaurant and chef community.
This year’s champion will be CH Fields Craft Kitchen and Romeo’s Pizzeria & Mediterranean Kitchen; and new 9th Street Deli, Spaghetti Benders and Levity Brewing to the roster this year.
“We are proud to be able to bring in more restaurants to help us raise more money. It takes the support of the entire community to strengthen the lives of the people, families and children who live in Indiana County, and we are so grateful that this community continues to support each other,” said Jane Lockard-Clawson, Executive Director. United Way.
Each restaurant will serve soups that can be ordered for $8, with all proceeds benefiting the United Way. Orders include soup, bread, cookies and a drink. The soup restaurant with the most orders will be declared the champion of Souper Bowl XVI.
This year’s soups are: Beer Cheese and Creamy Dill Gravy with Croutons from CH Fields Craft Kitchen; Tomato Basil and Chicken Noodles from Romeo’s Pizzeria and Mediterranean Kitchen; Baja Chicken Enchilada, from 9th Street Deli; Spaghetti Benders Wedding Soup; and Levity Brewing’s New England Clam Chowder.
“It’s such a fun and exciting event and we couldn’t do it without our amazing sponsors and all their hard work to make sure there’s soup for everyone to enjoy! Local businesses really take pride in giving back to this community, and they go above and beyond with their support,” said Chris Adams, 2022-23 United Way Campaign Chair. “We are grateful to have them as part of the team.”
In addition to participating restaurants, the event was made possible by donations from Hilton Garden Inn, Sysco, Insomnia Cookies, Six Hand Bakery, Market Street Pastries and Schneider’s Dairy, Walmart, Giant Eagle, Martin’s and BiLo.
Orders are available for curbside pickup or delivery at the Hilton Garden Inn with a minimum of five orders within 10 miles. Order by February 1 for your chance to attend the Souper Bowl at www.uwindiana county.org/souperbowl or by calling the United Way office at (724) 463-0277.
Curbside orders are available during the event, but availability is limited, so order in advance and support the community, one delicious meal at a time!
