Chipotle was awarded Best Lunch at the Just Eat Best Restaurant Awards 2023. The restaurant chain, located on Watford High Street, offers a selection of Mexican food from its grill.
The restaurant was awarded the win after receiving a perfect five-star rating for its good food. Speaking at the restaurant, a Just Eat spokesperson said: “The guacamole is worth more as Chipotle pulls off the best lunch, probably because it’s hand-shredded from scratch every day.
“With 12 locations across London, Chipotle prides itself on real ingredients, real flavor, fresh every day. Customers love creating their own burritos, bowls, soft tacos and salads.”
Chipotle European Marketing Director Rachael Weseloh said: “We are so honored that guests have chosen Chipotle restaurants with real ingredients made daily for their favorite lunch spot. It’s a testament to our amazing teams delivering exceptional hospitality and delicious cuisine every day.”
The Guard House, on Kneesworth Street in Royston, has been named runner-up for Best Takeaway in the South East at the Just Eat Restaurant Awards. The restaurant narrowly missed out on the award to Essex-based dessert chain Cookies & Cones.
Speaking about the experience, The Guard House Director Safwaan Choudhury said: “It is a wonderful achievement to be selected in recognition of our takeaway and delivery service, which is how we started our restaurant back in confinement; but to be named runner-up in the region is an even greater honour! I’m sure my team will go from strength to strength and continue to serve the best Royal Thai cuisine in Hertfordshire.”
Rung Kuajaroon, co-owner of The Guard House, said: “We had a fantastic night at the Just Eat Restaurant Awards, although we didn’t win it was great to meet the faces behind the best takeaways in the country, as well as lots of celebrities”.
Rung shared some of the secrets of the restaurant’s success: “We have a handful of trusted suppliers who import fresh Thai herbs, vegetables and other ingredients to ensure the best authentic flavors; loyal to Thailand.”
“When I moved to the UK many years ago, Thai food was relatively unheard of, so I’m proud that The Guard House is playing its part in pushing my country’s cuisine forward as a new favourite.”
Gail’s on Berkhamsted High Street sadly missed out on the Best Breakfast award. The winner of the best breakfast award went to fast food outlet LEON, which has chains in many major UK cities.
However, the award ceremony was packed with TV personalities including Channel 4’s ‘First Dates’ host Fred Sirieix, fashion consultant and chef Gok Wan, Love Island stars Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page, among many others.
