Birmingham’s Modern House Coffee Shop is honoring a notable person who made a difference in the civil rights struggle. FEMALE. Gaston is known for his courageous work paving the way for blacks in times of racial injustice. Starting Feb. 1, during Black History Month, the cafe will be selling a “heritage blend.” Store owner Troy Whetstone believes Gaston’s work for Birmingham will inspire generations to come.
