Pancheros Mexican Grill is celebrating a milestone birthday

On August 14, Pancheros Mexican Grill, the Mexican fast-casual chain, celebrates 30 years in the burrito business.
Rodney Anderson was founded in 1992 and opened the first location in Iowa City, IA. The concept quickly became a fan favorite in the university town due to its freshly squeezed tortillas and perfectly blended ingredients. Pancheros has built a large following over its 30 years, now with 72 locations in 12 states, Pancheros continues to expand its brand while maintaining its industry-leading reputation for food quality and service.
“As I look back over the past 30 years of the Pancheros business, I am incredibly honored to have built this brand alongside our growing group of dedicated franchisees,” said Rodney Anderson, founder and president of Pancheros. “They are the ones making all of this possible and I am grateful that they followed, believed in and benefited from the Pancheros system. It has always been our mission to offer our franchisees both excellent food and a great investment opportunity and after 30 years it is amazing to see the positive impact our brand has had on both our new and long-time partners. We are excited to see where the next few decades and beyond will take us.”
To celebrate the milestone, Pancheros is launching engaging promotions to show its appreciation to its loyal fans. Promotions include an exclusive line of merch available for purchase on the Pancheros website from August 1st through the end of the month. Additionally, guests who order at least one entree through the Pancheros app between August 8th and August 13th will earn 30 bonus points and have a chance to win one of 1,992 free burritos on August 14th via a mystery code that appears on Panchero’s Instagram is shared account.
When Pancheros turned 30th Year in business its momentum has not faltered, with the last year being another strong period of growth for the fast-casual concept. In addition to two early 2022 openings in Cherry Hill, NJ and Bismarck, ND, additional locations in Somerset, MA and Stillwater, MN are planned later this year.
“2022 has been a fantastic year for our growth and we couldn’t be better placed to celebrate our 30th birthdayth birthday,” said Joe Gale, director of franchise development at Pancheros. “With the classic Pancheros flavor that people know and love, combined with our new digital innovations and strategic expansion, there has never been a better time to join Pancheros.”
Pancheros attributes its strong following to its brand loyalty program, which offers reward points, limited-time offers, and exclusive promotions. Additionally, Pancheros strives for digital innovation through the implementation of its app and mobile pickup window recently launched in Moline, IL and Bismarck, ND.
Pancheros has earned a loyal following for redefining the standards of modern burritos by using freshly squeezed tortillas and ingredients blended to perfection with the help of Bob the Tool, a unique plastic spatula used to carefully mix the ingredients to create a perfect blend of every time bite to achieve the perfect taste.
The brand’s commitment to making the perfect burrito dates back to 1992 when Pancheros founder Rodney Anderson opened the doors to his first restaurant in downtown Iowa City, Iowa. Since then, the brand has grown to 12 states with 72 locations.
Pancheros’ beginnings date back to 1992 when Rodney Anderson opened the brand’s first restaurant in Iowa City, Iowa. Originally modeled after the Chicago taquerias that Anderson frequented with friends during his teenage years, the brand’s drive to engineer Better Built burritos led Pancheros to an evolution based on simplicity and freshly squeezed tortillas.
Amid its popularity, the brand has successfully grown from its roots and today, a robust franchising program has grown to nearly 72 locations in 12 states.
