One city in Missouri is in the list of the 50 fattest cities
WalletHub released a list called The Weightiest and Fattest Cities in 2023 in the US, and the only city from Missouri that was in the top 50 was Kansas City. Kansas City ranks 39th on the list, on the site they say…
“…more than 40% of adults in the United States are obese… WalletHub compares 100 of the most populous U.S. metro areas across 19 key indicators of weight-related issues. Our dataset ranges from the percentage of physically inactive adults to rates of Obesity expected by 2030 to access healthy food.
Now they only looked at the densely populated areas, so what does this mean for cities like Hannibal, Palmyra, and Canton in our tri-state area? This means that if they had data on ranking those cities as far as the fattest cities in the United States, they wouldn’t share it, but most likely that means they don’t do research on how small towns rank on this list. St. Louis does not appear on this list but is ranked 56th.
The fattest US city this year? According to WalletHub, it is the McAllen area of Texas, followed by Memphis (Tennessee), Mobile (Alabama), Knoxville (Tennessee), Jackson (Mississippi), and Chattanooga (Tennessee).
