More space for design: The Twin Meadow Home Design Center has opened in East Longmeadow
Alexandra and Joseph Tremblay, owners of the design and decoration business Tremblay Maison, located at 153 Longmeadow Street in Longmeadow, recently opened a second, much larger design center called Twin Meadow Home at 45A Baldwin Street in East Longmeadow.
With 11,000 square feet of display space, 5,000 square feet of warehouse space, and 13-foot ceilings, the new center provides more space for displaying furniture, items that need height, such as large rug racks and artwork, and for customers to purchase furniture right from the floor.
There is also space for customers to display a variety of options for their interior designs. A wide range of kitchen cabinets, countertop materials, flooring and tile options, bathroom tops, dining tables and chairs, sofa and armchair styles, upholstery materials, lamps, desks and office chairs are available for display.
The reason for opening a second facility is clear. space. There wasn’t enough of it in Longmeadow’s store.

“We’ve been formulating this idea for two years,” said Joseph Tremblay. “We were looking around this area of East Longmeadow and this place came up. It used to be a gymnasium, so there was quite a bit of work that needed to be done inside, including creating a spacious foyer at the entrance. It took us about eight months.” Before we got comfortable bringing in clients. Now that we’re all done, we welcome walk-in clients as well.”
The Longmeadow store opened in the fall of 2015. The new store opened at the end of August 2022. It is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
Alexandra Tremblay holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the New York School of Interior Design. Also on staff, and available to assist clients, is an Associate Designer and Junior Designer.
“People can come and look around and get help from a designer right there in the shop,” explained Alexandra Tremblay. “Designers can make a plan from a photo, or of course, we can come to your house and work with you there.”
They’ve also expanded their business in other ways. Joseph Tremblay said that as the business developed, they realized they needed to provide construction and general contracting services. He’s now a licensed general contractor, which means they can do everything for their clients, from building and decorating a new home, to simply helping clients choose a chair in one of their stores.
They are also willing to enter a renovation at any stage – at the beginning of the process, to assist with construction and complete interior design, or in the middle of a renovation to help finish the project.
Another service they provide is working with outside contractors at any time. They can provide consulting, or take over the entire project, depending on the client’s existing agreement with the contractor.
They would even bypass the vicinity. “Our clients come from all over Western Mass and northern Connecticut,” Alexandra Tremblay said, “but we’ve also done work on vacation homes all over New England and Florida.” Designers will provide this service either remotely or through a site visit.
“We try to make the process as easy as possible,” said Joseph Tremblay.
