McCormick® Announces Redesign of Core Line of Herbs and Spices

Global leader in flavors launches first bottle redesign in nearly 40 years, including
new signature SnapTight™ packaging

JAGDTAL, Md., March 14, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — For the first time in almost 40 years, McCormick®, the global leader in flavors, has launched a brand new design for its core Red Cap branded products. The new bottles – tested and preferred by consumers – appeal to more than just a packaging change, and appeal to a desire to shop and cook with the freshest herbs and spices. The brand’s new signature SnapTight™ caps assure home cooks that their bottles are tightly sealed, locking in flavor and freshness between uses.

The new bottles have begun rolling out onto retail shelves nationwide and the transition will continue throughout the year for all McCormick Red Cap products. These include key herbs and spices like cinnamon, garlic powder, paprika, parsley, and crushed red pepper.

“Our new bottle redesign is not only a milestone for the brand, but also for our home cooks,” he said Nicky FrenchGroup Vice President Marketing, NA consumer at McCormick. “These changes set a new standard when it comes to our passion and ongoing pursuit of taste.”

From packaging to home use, McCormick has made several changes that give consumers reasons to add them to their shopping cart. The new bottles are made from 50% recycled (PCR) plastic, using the redesign as a significant opportunity to further advance their environmental commitments and listen to consumer feedback. Prominently printing product names and best-before dates on the lid helps consumers shop for the right flavors. Clear label designs demonstrate the transparency and quality of McCormick’s herbs and spices. An improved bottling process draws out excess air during bottling and reduces the amount of oxygen inside, which can affect freshness over time; and new proprietary SnapTight™ lids audibly seal in flavor so herbs and spices stay fresher for longer.
