Kitty Spencer lost weight after ‘nasty’ comment – but may be enjoying a no-rules diet

Princess Diana’s niece, Lady Kitty Spencer, revealed in a recent interview that she’d managed to lose a significant amount of weight in her mid-20s after giving up “unhealthy eating,” but before that she dated quite a few people abused her on social media saying she has “chunky thighs”.

Kitty Spencer is now a model and has an incredible figure, but prior to her weight loss, people sent her very cruel messages on social media criticizing her weight.

The socialite revealed some Instagram users asked her to “give up the cake,” and others commented on her bikini pics, saying she was “too fat.”

“Leave the cake, darling. You’re too fat,” said one social media user, to which Kitty replied, “I’m sorry you feel the need to post mean comments under photos of people you don’t know. I haven’t seen any unkind behavior yet, nothing good in the world.”

In 2018, Princess Diana’s niece decided to lose weight and she did so by giving up the “unhealthy diet” she was following at the time.

Lady Kitty claimed that her first modeling job as well as her cousin’s royal wedding in 2018 were the two main reasons that motivated her to change her lifestyle habits and lose weight.

Her first modeling job was with Italian fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana, and months later she attended Meghan and Harry’s wedding looking stunning in a green midi dress.

After the royal event, Kitty saw her Instagram account grow with over 37,000 new followers noticing her transformation.

The celebrity recalled, “The next day I woke up and I looked at my phone and I was like, ‘Oops, did I accidentally take this from someone else?’ It was very weird and a little bit overwhelming,” she told Town and Country.

Speaking of her first modeling job before marriage, she said: “It was terrifying! I was 26 and working full time for a charity and I loved it but it’s very different from this world of style.

“I went home and talked to my family, and my mother said, ‘Well, why don’t you?’

“I thought, ‘I’m going to do it for my older self, so I can look back and say I did it.’ It could be the start of a confidence-building exercise.

“I remember trying to be really healthy, going to the gym and doing things like that and trying on the dress for a fitting, Domenico [Dolce] was like, ‘Have you lost weight?’

“I proudly replied: ‘Yes!’ and he said, ‘OK, now the measurements are different…’ There was no emphasis on size – that’s not the point at all.”

Kitty explained that she’s managed to lose weight through a balanced and varied diet, healthy choices, and a consistent fitness routine.

A diet similar to Kitty’s meal plan is the Mediterranean diet, which is “high in flavorful ingredients like fruits, vegetables, whole grains and heart-healthy fats,” Healthline explained.

Luckily for slimmers, there are “no strict rules about diet,” and “it usually encourages fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, and heart-healthy fats.”

Processed foods, added sugars and refined grains “should be limited,” meaning it’s all about healthy choices and varied meals, very similar to the diet plan Lady Kitty may have been following to lose weight.

According to Healthline, these are the foods to eat regularly, in moderation, and infrequently:

Eat: Vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, legumes, potatoes, whole grains, herbs, spices, fish, seafood and extra virgin olive oil

Eat in moderation: Poultry, eggs, cheese and yoghurt

Rarely eat: red meat, sugar-sweetened beverages, added sugar, processed meats, refined grains, refined oils, and other highly processed foods
