Karen’s Restaurant calls the server “rude” to tell him it’s closing time

The server says that a woman arrived at the restaurant just before closing and called it “rude” to bring her the check while she was still eating.

In the video posted by TikToker Dean Redmond (@deanredmonds) on August 3, he said the women “shown in at 3:47,” shy of when the restaurant closed at 4:00.

‘I said, ‘Hey ladies, did you want to get something? “Just letting you know the kitchen closes at 4:00,” Redmond says in the clip. They said: No, we want to sit down, and we have people serving us after that, and they close at four.

Redmond says he sat the group down and told them they had to “get the order before 4:00”.

“She stopped me and said, ‘I understand what that means,'” Redmond continues. “I go and get them water, and she says, ‘I don’t want water.'”

He continues that the woman asked him to “burn hot coffee” and take water from him. Unsatisfied with the temperature of the first coffee, Redmond says he brought the woman another coffee and asked the party again if they would like to place their order.

“It’s now 3:56, and if I don’t get their order before 4:00, he’ll leave the kitchen. So I go to them, and I go, ‘I just got your order in the next two minutes because the kitchen closes at 4:00,'” says Redmond. She said, again, that’s rude. Don’t tell the customer that. ”

Redmond explains that he finally got the order before the kitchen closed, but when he gave the woman the order, she said “the pastrami was disgusting.”

“I went back to the kitchen, and they were literally mopping. So they made it another one,” Redmond says. “At 4:26, the kitchen was gone, and I’m literally in the restaurant. I’m like, guys, this is your check. I’m sorry if there was any misunderstanding.”

Then he said the customer asked him why he brought her the check, saying, “Why would you give us the check if we’re sitting here enjoying our conversation?” According to Redmond, she then asked to speak to the owner and told him she would “write a review.”

The video has reached more than 7.6 million views as of Thursday. In the second part of the video, Redmond shares Yelp’s scathing comment that “Pattie L.” leave the situation.

In the review, Patti wrote that Redmond was “talking up every time explaining why rather than just giving the customer what they wanted.”

The review stated “the customer is always right”. “I’ve never been treated with such disrespect that I was today.”

In the comments, users criticized Patty for reviewing her, calling her “Karen”.

One user wrote: “Millennials and Generation Z are always slowly switching up the client narrative, and those born are getting more and more crazy about it.”

Another said, “Why do we give customers complete control over everything… They should be wrong when they are wrong and get kicked out or a restaurant is closed.”

“I felt rushed when she came right before she closed? How dare you try to leave on time!” a third added.
