A parenting pro has revealed three easy ways to stop your kids from throwing their own food on the floor — and claims the No Thank You bowl will be a game-changer.

Mom of four, June Kwan, shared that setting expectations and putting your kids at the table can also help avoid waste and clutter.

The mom, known online as @stirandstyle, who has two sets of twins, regularly shares parenting tips with her 440k followers.

In a new Instagram video, she said: “Try this if your kids throw food.

“Number one, instead of repeating ‘no,’ ‘stop,’ ‘don’t,’ let them know what they can do.”

June suggests using phrases like, “Food is for eating, not for throwing” to get the message across.

She continued, “Two, have them sit on the table instead of using a tray.

“It’s less enticing and less easy to throw when they’re pressed into their seats.”

However, this is the third piece of advice that I thought most parents might find helpful.

She added, “Number three, serve up a ‘no thanks’ bowl.”

“They often throw up because they want to remove food they don’t want from their space.

The bowl (instead of the floor) is a place for whatever they don’t want.

Before you know it, the ‘no thanks’ bowl will be a normal part of mealtime.

“They even end up eating food from their intestines later in the meal.”

Below the video, she added: “These three tips are what we learned along the way as we evolved our solid food journey with Harper and Knox.

“Knowing what we’re doing now and how effective it is, when we do it again with Zane and Silas, we’re going to do all three steps at the same time from the start.

“We started led weaning at 6 months old. When throwing food started to get distracting and a mess, we removed the tray and sat them at the table at 16 months old.

Then we were taught a ‘no thanks’ bowl and offered it immediately at 18 months old (we would have done that sooner had we known about it).

“They’re 22 months now and eating time is (and always has been) one of everyone’s favorite activities!”

Fans loved her quick and simple advice, with the video garnering more than 33,200 likes and 1.5 million views.

In the comments, other parents shared their thoughts, with one writing: “Oh, thank you! My kid must be practicing his throwing arm because he’s in the throwing phase.”

“She added one bowl and trust me it works. Food is not meant to be thrown on the floor for dogs to lick… This creates less mess and her kids can go back to the bowl if they want to try it again… Love this mom because she always shows what works” said another .

A third commented, “Even if nobody eats them, at least they don’t make sticky spots on the floor.”

Not everyone though was convinced, with another adding: “I applaud you for the calm approach but I laugh out loud at how off-putting this may be for many people who are so busy they don’t have much time on their side.”
