Frutango Juice Bar brings healthy options to the Flatbush community
Dr.. Janan Bartholomew And Dexter Bartholomew has opened Frutango Juice Bar, in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York.
Frutango juices and products contain no added additives or added sugars and, as Dexter Bartholomew says, “provide customers with nothing but cold pressed 100% fruit and vegetable juice.” The founders also incorporate ingredients from their Haitian heritage, including ginger, turmeric, and lemon.
The goal is to provide the Flatbush Caribbean community with healthy and delicious options while helping to combat high blood pressure and diabetes through nutrition.
Frutango wants to create an educational experience so customers can learn about the ingredients in every juice or smoothie produced, including through educational pamphlets placed throughout the bar, so customers can choose what works best for them.
Caribbean children and adults consume a lot of sugar “and come home,” says Janan Bartholomew [Caribbean] We are used to a lot of sugar in the production of our juices.” It is estimated that one in three Caribbean children is obese or overweight, which leads to medical problems in childhood and adulthood including type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure.
The Caribbean culture here in New York is the same. We all have risk factors, and sugary drinks are the primary source of sugar in our diets.”
Frutango sells all-natural juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls, premium lattes, coffee elixirs, acai bowls, salads, health shots, and iced drinks.
Banana Berry Punch is a meal replacement packed with natural fuels including coconut milk, aloe vera, vanilla extract, peanut butter, cinnamon, nutmeg and banana. Their cleansing program offers three different options: the novice who needs a reset, the intermediate customer interested in replacing their daily food intake with juices, and the advanced juicer seeking a thorough cleanse.

“As we enter the age in this society,” he adds, “ingredients need to resonate with our customers, feel like home, and taste like home.”
Offerings of Frutango products can be purchased at the retail location on Church Avenue in Brooklyn New York or on line. In addition, Frutango Juice Bar has partnered with delivery services Uber Eats and Grub Hub for ordering convenience and access to juice options.
The Bartholomews want to continue promoting a healthier option to their community and use their experience in the franchise industry to open several Frutango Juice Bar locations.
