|Last week, metro Detroit diners from city to suburb submitted hundreds of nominations for the 2023 Detroit Free Press/Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers Restaurant of the Year Classic, a readers’ choice publication.
Free Press editors sifted through your nominations to learn about long-standing institutions that have been serving their communities for a decade or more. We’ve read stories about a deli that’s been making quality sandwiches for 65 years, a century-old Coney Island that’s become home to so many, and a heroic establishment that’s entered as a last-minute wedding venue for a married couple after a tragedy. ruined their big day.
