Experience Club Med’s newest European resort, Magna Marbella

Club Med has expanded its European profile with its newest resort in Marbella, Spain. Located in the Andalusian region, Marbella is a beautiful city on the southern Spain’s Costa del Sol. The Sierra Blanca Mountains set the scene for this family-friendly, all-inclusive resort, while the views from the property are of the tropical waters of the Mediterranean.

The very first Club Med building was opened in 1950 in the Spanish Balearic Islands. Nearly 70 properties later, with the opening of Club Med Magna Marbella, the brand returns to the country. Magna Marbella is a sprawling, modern property built with vibrant indoor-outdoor architecture. Throughout, the Arabic-Ansalusian inspired style and design can be seen intertwined with the elements of comfort and sensibility of the property.

“Over the past few years, we’ve worked hard to expand and adapt our portfolio to attract more families and more luxurious travelers in every market,” said Amelie Brouhard VP Marketing Omnichannel North America & USA Sales. “Europe is an important market for us as our brand history is deeply rooted here, and we have put a lot of focus on our growth here with new resort openings and renovations.”

The 35-acre estate features an array of colorful gardens and terraces, as well as over 25 activities for guests who want to stay active. Magna Marbella offers five swimming pools, including the lagoon pool in the center of the property, surrounded by bright red parasols and sun loungers; countless hard and clay tennis courts; a golf course and miniature golf course; archery; and even trapeze and circus lessons.

When it comes to food and drink on site, there are two restaurants and three bars. Suenos is the main restaurant, offering guests sea views from the terrace and a buffet-style selection of endless food options. Ranging from local dishes and delicacies to international dishes, there is something for everyone. Whether it’s burgers and pizzas or poke bowls and grilled meats, diners won’t leave hungry.

Tierra Gourmet Lounge is the second dining option, requiring reservations for a more upscale, sit-down dining experience. Paella, tapas, fresh seafood and wine await guests. Adjacent to the lounge is a full bar.

In addition, Club Med prides itself on incorporating the best of local tradition, culture and food throughout the property, ensuring guests can expect plenty of jamón ibérico, cheeses, fresh seafood, sangria and other Spanish specialties at every event.

Club Med Magna Marbella is recognized as a 4-Trident (4 Star) – the corporate version of a star rating system – and prides itself on the best family programming and childcare. On the property are four kids’ clubs that offer a variety of tailor-made activities for youngsters from four months to 17 years old. Programming includes creative learning workshops, tennis and golf lessons, and more so parents can enjoy the property and relax while the kids have fun.

Location wise, this property is ideal for exploring the greater Andalusia region, also known as ‘The Garden of Europe’. Magna Marbella is a 20 minute walk from both the sea and the town centre, which has a charming old town with historic churches; a central square filled with tapas and cafes; boutiques and quaint alleyways awash with lavish bouganvilla.

“In line with our brand ethos to provide unforgettable holiday experiences while respecting the surrounding cultures and nature, Marbella offers guests the opportunity to get an authentic taste of the Andalusia region, one of Spain’s most mythical destinations”, explains Brouhard. “It is also open to American families who are open to longer distances in exchange for a seamless, hassle-free, all-inclusive vacation in Europe.”

Just ten minutes by taxi is The Golden Mile, an area widely recognized as one of Marbella’s most luxurious residential areas. Lavish beach clubs, Michelin-starred restaurants, lavish five-star hotel complexes and more make up for this. It is also only an hour’s drive from popular destinations such as Gibraltar, Ronda and Malaga, making it a great home base for adventures through this naturally beautiful region of Spain.
