DoorDash Customer Complains About Refund Hassle
|A common scam pulled by DoorDash customers complain about the slightest inconvenience in hopes of receiving a refund from the food ordering platform.
In a video with over 3.2 million views, a TikTok user Jordan (@jordankeeling) joked about doing just that, writing: “When I ordered door dash and ate all my food but they forgot my straw so now may I lie and do the most.”
In the caption, he added: “My food never came and I need my money back.”

This is not the first time such a scam has gone viral. Back in December, a user on TikTok claimed that they were looking for the “slightest mistake” in their order to get credits on the app.
In the comments section, some users claimed that they themselves have performed this or a similar scam.
“If they forget the sauce, I paid $0.50 extra for them to make up for the whole meal,” one user wrote. “There are certain meals that don’t hit the mark unless it’s got the sauce.”
“No bc today Starbucks actually forgot my groceries and I cheated the door dash sm they wouldn’t give me a refund,” claimed a second.
“When they deliver to the wrong building, I go get my food and say I never received it because technically I didn’t,” said a third.
However, several users warned against the practice.
“Don’t do this… one they could lose their job and two it’s not even dasher’s fault… it’s the place you ordered from,” one user explained.
“As a doorman – they let us dispute yalls refund requests so if we have proof (which I always take a pic and save it to my camera roll),” shared another.
That said, a few users claimed that the spread of this scam has made it difficult for them to receive refunds, echoing a viral claim made by a TikToker in February.
“I was two orders short of fries and they put my milkshake in a bag without a lid that spilled and they said ‘we can only refund $2.72,'” one user alleged.
“I’m literally telling the truth in there and they think I’m a scammer because I have to refund so much,” explained another TikToker. “THEY NEVER REMEMBER THE DRINK.”
“…They told me I couldn’t get a refund for an order that literally never arrived,” shared another user. “Phone support hung up on me n everyone.”
