Walton American Legion Dinner

Walton American Legion, Robert Ray Brown Post 418, will be having their monthly chicken and noodle take-out only dinner from 10:45 am to 12:30 pm today. Literacy Volunteers board meeting

The next meeting of the Cass County Literacy Volunteers board of directors will be today at 4 pm in the Head Start Board Room, 600 Regency Place. Interested persons are invited to attend. For more information call 574-721-2502.

The mourning group meets

Democrats Seek Candidates

Deer Creek Breakfast

Deer Creek Presbyterian Church, 4450 N. State Road 29, Deer Creek, will host a community breakfast from 7-10 am on Saturday, February 4. Handicap accessible and takeout available. The menu includes biscuits and gravy, waffles, sausage and bacon, eggs, hash browns, coffee cake and biscuits, fruit, coffee, milk, and juice. Voluntary offering for church community projects.

Grief Sharing Seminar

The grief recovery seminar and Grief Share support group meet at Faith Community Fellowship, 1007 17th St., from 6-8 pm on Tuesdays. The next session begins on February 7 and ends on May 2. The church is located at 1007 17th St. Grief Share is staffed with nationally recognized experts on grief recovery issues. Seminar sessions include “Is This Normal?”, “The Challenges of Grief,” “Grief and Your Relationships,” “Why,” “Guilt and Anger,” and more. Galentine’s day celebration

The Logansport Parks and Recreation Department will host its first Galentine’s Day celebration from 6-8 pm Thursday, February 9 at the Penman Building, 1701 Dividend Dr. Galentine’s Day is an opportunity for women to celebrate their friendships. The event includes wine tasting with People’s Winery, charcuterie, coffee with Black Dog, and a craft led by Heidi Kitchel. The cost is $25. Logansport. The celebration is open to women over the age of 21. Proof of age required at the door. Event limited to 40 participants. New Waverly UMC Breakfast

New Waverly United Methodist Church will offer a breakfast from 7 to 9:30 am on Saturday, February 11. The menu includes scrambled eggs, sausage patties, French toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, juice, and coffee. Freewill offering with proceeds going to the Cass County Carousel.

Legion Valentine’s Dinner/Dance

The American Legion Post 60, 828 Burlington Ave., Logansport, will be hosting a Valentine’s Dinner/Dance on Saturday, February 11. The event is open to the public. Baked steak dinner, dessert bar, live music and more. Dinner is served from 5-6:30 pm, with music by Young at Heart featuring Kenny Holcomb, Ron Baker and Danielle Hernandez from 7-10 pm There will be 50/50 raffles, door prizes and more. junior euchre tournament

Miami County Junior Achievement will host a euchre tournament from 5-9 pm on Saturday, February 18 at the Peru Moose Lodge, 110 N. Broadway, Peru. The event will raise funds to support Junior Achievement programs that prepare youth for success in today’s global and local world. In partnership with educators and adult volunteers, JA’s experiential learning sequence helps Miami County youth develop job readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy skills that help them function as self-sufficient adults that will strengthen their community.

Lincoln Day Dinner

The Cass County Republican Party will hold its annual Lincoln Day Dinner beginning at 6 pm on Friday, February 24 at the 4-hr Fairgrounds Community Center. Appetizers will be served at 6 pm and dinner at 6:30 pm The Honorable Todd Houston, Speaker of the Indiana House of Representatives, will serve as guest speaker. Caston baseball, softball inscriptions

Caston Athletic League online registration is open through March 1 at castonathleticleague.com for teeball, 8u-12u softball and 8u-12u baseball. The Logansport High School Class of 1962 will hold their monthly lunch at 1 pm on March 23 at Westside Diner, 1120 W. Market St. The monthly lunch is held on the fourth Tuesday of each month from March through October .
