Cheese Burger Week Tuesday | Burger Carnival – Pasadena Weekender

If hamburgers are an attraction, Slater’s 50/50 is a circus, carnival, and ride, all in one place. It’s an overtraining workout, and FastPass to burger (and cheeseburger) nirvana.

A quick glance at the menu will tell you everything you need to know about their creations, from the basic to the insane. The original 50/50 had their signature beef and bacon patty, some pepper cheese, some avocado, sunny-side-up eggs and some chipotle mayonnaise on a brioche bun. This is the main cheese here.

But if that’s not enough and you’re really hungry, how about a Pasadena farm burger? It’s over 1 pound of meat, including an Angus steak, a signature piece, 50-50 chicken nuggets, some fried chicken, topped with peppers, jack and American cheese, Nashville slaw, a bunch of pickled red onions, some sautéed mushrooms, and Drizzle of tapatio ranch dressing.

I agree? And yes, it does get even crazier.

There’s a 24-karat burger, a half-pound of Wagyu beef, a 24-karat gold-covered brioche bun, a 24-karat gold-covered Billionaire’s Bacon, some bacon jam, some watercress, some truffle cheese, and a garlic ole. This is gold, Jerry, gold.

Maybe you brought some friends with you to enjoy the mystery and magic of Cheeseburger Week. May we suggest the King’s Luau burger?

It’s four King’s Hawaiian Rolls, slices of spam, pineapple and, of course, a sunny-side-up egg, to American cheese, some coleslaw (!), and a third of a pound of beef and bacon mixed in a 50-50 pancake and it’s all served with about 1,000 French fries. . This is what I’m talking about folks.

We were more civilized during our visit. We went with the bacon chili. This is Angus beef topped with melted cheddar, cheese, slatters bacon, chili, and a crispy layer of potato chips in a brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. We skipped the onions. And we were very happy.

We split the burger, the second burger was the Lone Star Smoke. This is an Angus beef burger, topped with smoked bacon, some cheddar cheese, some crisps, onions, rings, some pickles, some smokey BBQ sauce, and garlic ole on a brioche bun. We skipped the fries this time and went with the salad. This is on us.

We barely highlighted the crazy menu at Slaters. If you choose to spend a cheeseburger week here, you’ll never go hungry, maybe again.

We might go back soon, because we haven’t tried PB and Jellousy – Angus beef, thick bacon, peanut butter and strawberry jelly (!) on a honey wheat bun and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
