This week at Texas Eats, David Elder takes us to Max & Louie’s New York Diner, where they serve incredible food on the north side of San Antonio.
In the kitchen, where they prepare a burger and pastrami sandwich combination alongside one of the biggest breakfast plates we’ve ever seen, owner Drew Glick joins!
After that, David heads to Beacon Hill in San Antonio to feast on French-inspired steaks and pizzas at the SoHill Cafe. David joins owner Jean-Francois Poujol to sip wine and discuss the French style of cooking, sous vide.
Next, David heads to the Hill Country for craft beers and creative burgers in Boerne at Cibolo Creek Brewing Co.
Next, David takes us to Houston for some incredible waffle menu items. David samples a flatbread cheeseburger, waffle chicken sandwich, and other sweet and savory waffle creations.
David then takes us to Parry’s Pizzeria, one of Alamo City’s newest places to eat a slice.
Then, David gets dinner and a show at Hayat Cafe, a warm Mediterranean and middle eastern restaurant in Houston.
David gets things done in the kitchen with Jerk Shack’s Chef Nicola Blaque, where they create an easy chicken teriyaki recipe together.

Contents:
4 chicken legs
1 tablespoon olive oil
sliced garlic
sliced ginger
4 oz This
4 oz i was willow
2 tablespoons Honey
2 tablespoons Sambal Pepper Paste
orange peeled
Sliced Green Onion
sliced pineapple
salt pepper
Instructions:
Heat the pan over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
Brown chicken thighs on both sides.
Add the garlic and ginger to the pan and let it soften for about 1 minute.
Deglaze the pan with water and soy sauce.
Add honey and sambal and mix.
Lower the heat and let it simmer, occasionally spooning the sauce over the chicken, until the sauce thickens. About 15 minutes.
Add the orange peel and the juice of half an orange to the pan.
Top the chicken with white rice and garnish with scallions and fresh pineapple.
Serve with salad and enjoy!
