This report, which is an annual feature, is based on user activities on Bharat Matrimony, India’s largest matchmaking platform helping over 5 million singles find their match. 2022 saw a whopping 280 million singles member logins across India and abroad.

A total of 4,32,520 members confirmed that they have met their life partner on Bharat Matrimony last year.

More than 5 lakh IT and ITES professionals registered with BharatMatrimony.com in 2022, a nod to professionals in the software and technology space who prefer online matchmaking.

In terms of interests like sports, the report revealed that badminton was the sport of choice among women and, unsurprisingly, cricket among men.

Surprisingly, there were a considerable number of men who shared the kitchen with interior design and video blogging as hobbies. Among women, frequently mentioned hobbies included cooking, dancing, and social media activities. Clearly 2 years of pandemic have successfully hooked Gen Z and Millennials into cooking at home!

The trend to watch out for in the coming year is that the younger generation will become more caste and community liberal in 2022, close to 60% of Indian youths responded that they are open to marrying outside their caste and community, while emphasizing compatibility based on lifestyles, hobbies, educational qualifications, and general connection and rapport when it comes to choosing your life partner.
